The Chance of a Lifetime
Each year the Independent Feature Project selects 10 narrative and 10 documentaries to mentor free of charge for one year.  Directors and producers travel to New York in June for extensive one-on-one feedback and consultations from some of the top talent in independent film, and previews of their films are screened in September for festival programmers, agents, and distributors. I can personally...

Here’s an interesting feature I just discovered on Tumblr.  Click the link to submit a question to this blog.  I can’t imagine what you could possibly want to know.

Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne pictured in the bath on... →
Wayne lives about six blocks from me.  I love that our neighborhood’s Google Street View photos were taken around Halloween time; in our photo the house is covered in cobwebs and the neighbors have a giant spider on the roof. via perpetua: Well, you probably want to click though and see it, right? Good work, NME.

Oklahomarock's 100 Oklahoma albums of the 00's →
It’s a crime how many of these albums I’ve never heard.  Take a look and a listen, and see what Oklahoma had to offer in the last 10 years.  Glad to see that my favorite local band of all time, The Fellowship Students, got some love. (and if Eric Sarmiento’s “Moonlight is Sunlight” isn’t in the top 10, there will be hell to pay)

WatchWatch
I really like the music of Laura Veirs, and I don’t really know anyone else who listens to her.  That really needs to change.  Here’s her new video for “July Flame,” directed by Doug Savage. (presented via Stereogum)

What's an Okiedharma?
Good question. And no, I’m not a Buddhist. “Okiedharma” is a word I’ve been using for about 12 years or so to represent my filmmaking work, my writings, and other projects… essentially my “brand,” to use a term I really can’t stand. Basically it comes from a time in my life where I was seeking direction in my life.  I had just graduated college; I...

A Christmas Movie
In case you missed it; I wrote and directed a Christmas movie this year for LifeChurch.tv’s Christmas Eve services.  It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for nearly ten years, before I ever considered working for a church, and it was really satisfying to finally be given the ball. I work with a great group of people on the “Bling Team,” and everyone really...

New Year, New Look
I was dreadfully bored with the look of this page, so I messed around with some of the custom themes on Tumblr and came up with this.  I like it, but haven’t nailed down the color scheme for the text yet.  Feel free to tell me what you like/don’t like along with any suggestions to make it more friendly and pretty to look at.
